Subject – Containers under CSD hold and forwarded for examination under Supervision of DC/Docks –reg.

Attention is drawn to Standing Order No. 58/2010 dated 05.10.2010.

Suspicious containers, which are not being examined by CSD, are being sent to Docks with their scanned images for examination and clearance under the supervision of DC/Docks. It is reiterated that examination will be done under the supervision of DC/Docks only. However, It has been observed that no feedback is received in Container Scanning Division in these cases as to whether any discrepancy regarding detection of any violation in terms of mis-declaration of cargo, weight or non-declared goods has been found or not.

Therefore, a daily report of containers, whose images are furnished to the Docks, must be forwarded to Container Scanning Division in the enclosed Performa at feedbacktocsd@gmail.com for better feedback to improve the working of CSD and to reflect the performance of Scanning. Further, in cases where no discrepancy is observed, the same may also be mentioned in the ‘Remark’ column. Remarks to this effect should also be entered in the ICES 1.5 menu invariably. All concerned should ensure compliance of this order.
